Picking Bins with Riesling
Two of the 70 odd picking bins that were filled that Saturday.

DeGan Brothers
Brothers Dave (center) and Bill (right) DeGan.
They are revitalizing a vineyard over in Chico Texas.

Loading of the Bins for Transport
The picking bins being loaded onto the truck for transport to the
Winery where the will be crushed.

Loading the Crusher-DeStemmer.
Ooops.  Forgot to put the screen into the de-stemmer portion.  What
went through was re-cycled.

Filling press 1
A niece and nephew transfer the crushed must to the press.  Les Constable (the Winemaker at Brushy
Creek, back center) and myself (right) watching the progress.  This press requires 1000 pounds minimum
to operate, fortunatly we had over 1270 pounds this day.

Princes and the Press
Of course one neice had to show off with the press.

Riesling juice in tank
This is the Golden nectar that everyone worked so hard for that day.

Riesling pulp cake
And when all is said and done, all you have is this dry mound of skins
and seeds called a cake.
