April 7, 2009.
Argh! Mother nature is definitly upset about something this year. We observed major freezes March 29, April 2,6 & 7. By major, it got down below 27°F for several hours.
I've pretty much lost over 90% of the Riesling crop for this year. I have not checked the Cabernet Sauvignion after the last 2 events. The new Riesling block was looking good up until March 29th. Now I hope that something survived.
One possible good thing that may have come of these freezes is that it may have killed off a whole generation or two of insects.
